EDED20458 Literacy and Numeracy

Course details

Diagnosing and addressing learner needs in literacy and numeracy is the focus of this course. There are three modules: 1. Issues in literacy and numeracy; 2. Identifying literacy and numeracy issues in students; 3. Planning for learning and teaching in literacy and numeracy.

The first module both provides introductory readings and raises some of the contentious issues of literacy and numeracy education including curriculum frameworks in literacy and numeracy.

The second module identifies learner needs and gaps.

The third module is the designing, implementing and evaluating of appropriate strategies and assessing learning outcomes through engagement in and use of the English and Mathematics Key Learning Areas and Essential Learnings.
