Course details

This course examines the `triple-threat¿ study of singing, acting and dance. Students should develop both formal and situated learning elements in the realisation of the Art of Musical Theatre. Singing: provides a technical foundation of the basic physiology of the vocal organ through a systematic exploration of breathing and voice placement. Acting: establishes the basics of harnessing and focusing the student¿s expressive ability through self-awareness, group improvisation and examining the concept of `choice¿. Dance: addresses the basic technical skills required in the dance forms most frequently used in musical theatre performance - classical dance, jazz dance and tap.
