ENEM14012 Finite Element Analysis

Course details

Students apply finite element techniques to determine and analyse stress, strain and deflection in mechanical components and structures. They determine the effects of impact and fatigue, and analyse failures in materials. Students model machine components experimentally and mathematically and study elastic deformation using Finite Element techniques. They develop skills required to communicate professionally, evaluate the results of analyses, prepare professional records of work, and work and learn both independently and professionally.
Distance education (FLEX) students are required to have access to a computer and to make frequent use of the Internet.
