Handbook Terminology:

Course

This term has multiple definitions:

  1. A course (often called a subject or unit)  is a component of a program of study and is normally taken over a single term. A standard three-year bachelor degree consists of 24 courses. (Source: Student Handbook)
  2. A discrete portion of academic work, normally taken over a single term, for which a student enrols and on completion of the term is awarded a grade that is entered on to the student's academic record. (Source: Student Dictionary)
