Recommended study schedule

A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from your program administrator. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in 4 courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in 2 courses per term.

Computing requirements
You will need access to a computer for your studies. Access to the Internet and email is required. Hardware and software specifications change, so if you are purchasing a computer for your studies, you should purchase the best quality and highest capacity (RAM, hard drive, monitor) that you can afford.

Offshore delivery sites
Programs available at offshore delivery sites are offered with the support of local agents. Students should note that some programs are subject to articulation arrangements with the local institution and that course and program offerings are subject to availability at that particular delivery site.

Transitional arrangements for pre-2008 students:
Existing students may graduate under pre-2008 rules. Transitional arrangements are as follows:

 

For articulation and graduation purposes the following courses will be deemed as equivalent and both cannot be credited towards the award:

In addition, COIT13228 Managing & Securing Networks can be used as a course in the pre 2008 BIT Systems Specialisation. COIT13229 Applied Distributed Systems can be used as a replacement for COIT13152 Operating Systems in the pre 2008 Systems Specialisation of the BIT.

 

In addition, COIT13229 Applied Distributed Systems can be used as a course in the pre 2008 Applications Specialisation of the BIT.

 

COIT12140 Object Oriented Programming will be offered in 2008 to allow students to complete under the rules governing the 2007 BIT. 

 

Students who started the BIT program in 2007 or earlier must transfer to the 2008 BIT after Term 3 2009.

 

No student will be disadvantaged by the changes to this program.
