ENAR12003 Underground Mining

Course details

Access, layout and design are considered in terms of method of operations and mine services. The main focus is coal mining including methods, ventilation, mine gasses, methane drainage, spontaneous combustion, subsidence and percentage extraction. Metalliferous mining methods are introduced for cut and fill, shrinkage and longhole stoping, vertical crater retreat, sub level caving, block caving, hard rock narrow width tabular mining methods. Other issues include groundwater control, pumping recovery and dilution.
