EDHE20001 Contemporary Issues in University Teaching

Course details

Understandings of how cultural contexts generally and educational contexts more specifically traditionally exclude or devalue a variety of groups and individuals are used, in this course, as a basis for critically analysing the ways in which contemporary economic and technological agendas influence the design and delivery of university education. Whilst providing students with an opportunity to map developments in technology and economic theories, the course also highlights the need for educators to remain aware of the diverse range of consequences associated with both the unproblematic adoption of technological `innovations' and the uncritical pursuit of `economy' and `efficiency' in education.
