Entry Requirements

Undergraduate entry requirements
For domestic students (Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens) the majority of CQU undergraduate programs are offered via the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). Entry requirements for each program can be found on the
QTAC website.  Some programs have prerequisites that are specific requirements that must be satisfied in order to be eligible for entry. Information on prerequisite subjects and other admission requirements can be found on the QTAC website, or in this handbook.

This includes Year 12 applicants completing the Queensland Senior Certificate and have gained an Overall Position (OP)  (including OP ineligible students) or equivalent interstate rank (TER, UAI, ENTER). OP details and prerequisites for CQU are given in the QTAC Guide and on the QTAC website. The
Queensland Study Authority (QSA) is the government agency responsible for issuing Queensland students with their Overall Positions (OPs). The QSA site has helpful information for Queensland school students.

Non-school leavers
Completing Year 12 is not the only way to enter into university.  There are many other pathways. At CQU we recognise that you have valuable skills and knowledge that were not taught in the classroom. Work experience and other  studies can help you gain admission.  There are also bridging and access programs designed to help you gain the knowledge, skills and confidence you'll need to succeed. For further information, go to
Bridging and Access programs in this handbook.
