Course details
The course contains three modules, with a maximum of two content + pedagogy modules and one misconceptions/assessment module. The aim is to expand content knowledge, pedagogy and understanding of the alternative conceptions that hinder learning. For example, the course would comprise a range of topics including but not limited to: E2 Plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes; common alternative conceptions about the Sun, Moon and Earth that are reported in the research literature; designing a learning-assessment task for studying the Earth or Solar System that helps children understand volcanoes, earthquakes, the seasons or Deep Time.
