EDCU11015 Numeracy in the Classroom

Course details

The teaching of Mathematics at the primary levels requires a broad understanding of both Mathematical content and how children learn. The six strands of the Queensland Maths Syllabus are examined using concrete hands-on activities which lead to the development of symbolic and abstract concepts. Special emphasis is given to the four basic operations and how these are best understood by children. Assessment and evaluation procedures specific to Maths are explored.
