EDED20460 Professional Studies I: Content & Pedagogy

Course details

Having diagnosed his/her learning needs in Advanced Learning Management, the student chooses and learns new content, and new pedagogy or assessment skills. The course contains three modules, with a maximum of two content + pedagogy modules and one misconceptions/assessment module. The aim is to expand student’s content knowledge, pedagogy and understanding of the alternative conceptions that hinder learning. For example, the course would comprise a range of topics including but not limited to: B1 Biological classification systems and the five-kingdom model; common alternative conceptions about plants, animals and micro-organisms and living, dead and non-living issues reported in the research literature; and the use of diagnostic and formative assessment.
