MMST12009 Dynamic Web Interfaces

Course details

This course helps experienced Web designers to take their skills even further by building database-driven Web sites that present dynamically generated content. The topics that are covered in the course include: using a Web application server; fundamental database concepts; creating databases with Microsoft Access; using the Structured Query Language (SQL) to access and manipulate the contents of a database; designing an Entity-Relationship (E-R) model; eliminating anomalies in a database through the process of normalisation; using the programming features of the ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML); and building ColdFusion applications for searching, retrieving, adding and updating database records. Access to a computer running Windows with an Internet connection, audio capabilities and a CD-RW drive is a requirement for this course.
