MMST12020 3D Animation

Course details

This course provides a practical introduction to 3D animation and visual effects using 3D graphics software. The topics that are covered in the course include: fundamental animation concepts, principles and techniques; creating an internal skeleton for a 3D character model; using inverse kinematics to control the movement of a 3D character model; binding a surrounding skin mesh to an animated skeleton; animating a walk cycle; synchronising a 3D character's lip movements and facial expressions with dialogue; animating a 3D character performance that conveys emotion; and creating 3D visual effects. Note: This course requires access to a computer running Windows with a 3D graphics card, an Internet connection, audio capabilities and a CD-RW drive.
