ACCT19083 Corporate Governance & Ethics

Course details

This course aims to develop an understanding of the underlying concepts of corporate governance, ethics and organisational citizenship which are relevant to the contemporary business environment. It is designed to foster the growth and integration of students' knowledge of the ethical influences on the economic, financial, managerial, and environmental aspects of management. To achieve this, the course will review the different processes of good ethical processes affecting both the private and public sectors, and compare and contrast current international approaches recently adopted to establish corporate citizenship best practice. This unit also aims to develop an awareness of the role ethical issues play in business policy formulation and implementation; management policy formulation and implementation; and employee rights and obligations; and to develop a student's ability to critically analyse ethical issue that arise in business life.
