MGMT19122 Public Sector Procurement Policies and Principles

Course details

This course involves the study of public sector procurement with particular reference to principles and policies. Governments have an obligation to their constituents to buy honestly, to obtain value for money, to be accountable, but also to meet expectations in terms of social and economic objectives. Consequently, government procurement is more complex and must be based on principles and policies which have in turn foundation in the principles and policies of public sector management, democracy, social responsibility and so on. How Government procurement policies are developed, what they contain, how they are used, how they differ - are all issues to be dealt with in this course.
