Program Overview

This program aims to produce graduates capable of designing and drafting residential and commercial buildings up to 25 metres in height. The program has been produced in close association with the Building Designers’ Association of Australia.

Prospective students are encouraged to talk to the Program Coordinator about exemptions from the program based on previous study or professional experience. The Faculty has established sets of exemptions for holders of TAFE qualifications.

A normal part-time load is 12 units of credit for terms 2 and 3, 6 units of credit in term 5. Students should note prerequisite requirements and course availability (in this Handbook) when constructing their program in liaison with the Program Coordinator. It is suggested that you study courses in order of level.

Computing Requirements

It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that all students have access to the CQU World Wide Web site via the Internet. Students may be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and the Internet.

Transitional Arrangements for Building Programs

As the building programs have been restructured, students still in these programs must ensure that they complete courses out of the new programs at appropriate levels. Students should liaise closely with their Program Coordinator to ensure correct enrolment.
