This course develops a working understanding of the Building Code of Australia and associated legislation with a specific focus on Volume 2 of the BCA. It provides an introduction to: statutory controls and assessment; Australian Standards and codes; statutory requirements and professional liability related to the building design, regulation and construction industries; and enforcement proceedings. This course will develop an awareness of how disability, OH&S, environmental and heritage legislation interact with the BCA and will also provide an introduction to the principles of performance-based legislation.
