Program Overview

The Bachelor of Business Administration program is designed for students whose career aspirations may be best served by undertaking a broadly-based business program rather than a discipline specific professional program. Rather than specialise in one specific field of business operations, students are given the opportunity to undertake studies across a range of business and other related disciplines. This approach may suit students who believe that they will be better served in their careers by acquiring an understanding of a wide range of business areas and operations, rather than specialising in a single business area or function.

The program provides a flexible degree pathway, offering a diverse range of courses which gives you the opportunity to obtain broad-based skills in a business environment. It will equip students with a sound skills base regarding business operations within Australia and internationally. Emphasis will focus on graduates becoming more diversified rather than specialists. However, a base is provided to enable students to proceed to specialist functional areas by additional study and may lead to recognition by the appropriate professional body.

Program Structure

To satisfy the requirements for the award students must complete a program of 24 courses which comply with the requirements stated below. Students must complete:

Multiple Exit Points

Multiple exit points have been incorporated into the Bachelor of Business Administration course to recognise a specific level of achievement. Exit points are only available to students who make application to graduate with the exit qualification, cancel their enrolment in the course and satisfy the requirements of the specific exit qualification. Students availing of such exit qualifications who wish to continue with the Bachelor of Business Administration, must apply for readmission to the course. Subsequent re-entry to the course and attainment of a higher qualification will necessitate the surrender of the lower level award.

Application for Credit Transfer

Credit transfer will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary studies equivalent in content and depth to a Bachelor of Business Administration course have been completed. Students should examine the course synopses in this handbook to determine the courses from which they may be eligible to claim exemption. Refer to Credit for Previous Studies in the Admission & Enrolment section of the handbook, regarding the guidelines and requirements in applying for credit transfer.

A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from your program administrator. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personnel study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in four courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in two courses per term per term.

Note: Students must check to see when and where a course is offered before enrolling. See the course availability section in this handbook for details.

Programs available at offshore delivery sites are offered with the support of local agents. Students should note that some programs are subject to articulation arrangements with the local institution and that course and program offerings are subject to availability at that particular delivery site.
