Bachelor of Business (Purchasing and Materials Management) CQ09

Duration: 2 years part-time.
Mode: External only.
Location(On-Campus): Not offered internally.
Courses/Units of Credit: 24 courses (of which exemption is given for 16 courses of the Advanced Diploma of Purchasing & Materials Management)/144 units of credit.
Faculty: Business & Law.
Entry: Direct. Admission is only available to graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management (AIPMM) or the equivalent, who are granted advanced standing (ie. exemptions) equivalent to two years’ full-time study (16 courses).
Accreditation: Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management (AIPMM), the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management and other professional bodies representing purchasing and materials practitioners.

Program Overview

Excellent opportunities exist for professionally trained practitioners and managers in the area of purchasing and materials management. Manufacturers, retailers, mining companies, government departments, in fact all organisations having a functional purchasing and/or materials management department, are seeking properly qualified staff. The degree is designed for those who are currently in a management position, wishing to be eligible for promotion to more senior levels in their organisation and/or those who wish to develop new skills and knowledge in logistics management.

The degree program in purchasing and materials management provides education for professionals working, or intending to work in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, who already hold an Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management, or its equivalent. It is available through CQU’s Centre for Continuing Professional Education.

Application for Credit Transfer

Upon admission to the course students must submit an application for block exemption equivalent to 16 courses. Students must include a certified copy of their Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management (AIPMM).

Program Structure

To satisfy the requirements for the award students must satisfy a program of 24 courses made up of 16 courses in the Advanced Diploma and the following 8 courses:

4 Technical Specialist Courses, which are:

Students who have completed any of these 8 courses must substitute these courses with other courses selected from the Table of Course Availability offered by the Faculty of Business & Law.
