STAT12029  Essential Statistics

This course introduces students to the concepts and applications of probability and statistical modelling involving questions of estimation, inference, regression and correlation. Topics include descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency and dispersion, binomial Poisson and normal distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, Chi-square tests, linear regression and correlation. Issues in quality and quantity control are introduced.
