Program Aim
The aim of this program is to promote the professional development of educators in tertiary education. Participants will examine the role of the educator, and the knowledge, skills and dispositions required for effective teaching and student learning. Continuous improvement in learning and teaching practices is a critical focus of the program, by promoting reflective practice, innovation, scholarship and research. Thus, contemporary educational issues will be considered as experienced by participants in their particular contexts and through engagement with current literature.
Program Structure
The GCTE consists of four courses to the value of six units of credit each. The program consists of three core courses plus one elective course. This program is offered only part-time and online. The program requires linking study to professional practice and therefore it is essential that intending students are currently active in teaching. If you are unsure of how this may affect you please contact the Head of Program prior to enrolment.
