Career Opportunities
On graduation with a Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Nursing, students will meet the academic requirements to apply to become credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian College of Mental Health Nursing. Students will also be educationally prepared for mental health nursing practice in a broad range of inpatient and community settings across the mental health care sector.
CQUniversity's Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Nursing is ideal for Registered Nurses who are looking to gain a specialist qualification for roles in various health care sectors where there are people experiencing mental health issues or problems. The program will help students gain an understanding of contemporary topics and issues of relevance to mental health clinicians, including recovery, mental health in primary care, dual diagnosis, physical treatments and psycho-social and educational interventions, and aged care mental health. Students will also be eligible to apply for credentialing with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
