The Bachelor of Paramedic Science (Specialisation) opens up opportunities for you to have an exciting and rewarding career in emergency care as an essential member of interdisciplinary health care.  Paramedics assess patient condition, decide on and deliver appropriate emergency treatment designed to stabilise the patient and coordinate patient care with other members of the health team.  Paramedics provide critical emergency care and many types of unscheduled, out of hospital care. They also assist their local communities during pre-planned, large-scale events and are involved in disaster planning and response.

The first year of the program provides foundation knowledge in sciences, human body systems, study and research skills and, paramedic practice.  The later years focus on disease processes and their emergency treatment with practical placements in paramedic care. There, students will work closely with paramedics and respond to ‘real-life' emergency situations. As a student you are exposed to the most up-to-date high fidelity simulation equipment to support your work integrated learning.
