Course details

Effective pedagogy is central to achieving learning outcomes in students. This course applies evidence based pedagogical practices in the Middle Phase of Learning in response to the particular charcteristics and needs of Middle Phase learners. Student learning managers design and deliver learning experiences that achieve outcomes within secondary school contexts.

This course focuses on issues in relation to adolescent learners, relevant theories and initiatives on learning in this phase, and the evaluation of learning and classroom/student management activities relevant to this phase. Student learning managers will develop skills that enable them to design learning experiences that have Middle Phase learners extend, refine and use knowledge meaningfully with a focus on complex reasoning processes and creating a meaningful context for learning.

Critical use is made of relevant sources of information including current policy and Queensland Studies Authority syllabus documents to assist in the design of quality learning experiences.
