NURS12147 Acute Nursing Management

Course details

This course builds on the knowledge, skills and dispositions from the foundational nursing courses to explore the complexity of nursing care in acute settings. Students will apply an evidence based approach to assessing, planning, implementing and documenting nursing care for patients experiencing acute illness. Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families and other health care professionals will be emphasised as key to facilitating positive health outcomes. Students will be expected to function within the scope of practice of a nursing student in accordance with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) competencies during a compulsory clinical placement.
