Course details
This course will introduce students to the field of Medical Imaging and the role and function of radiography and sonography within the Australian healthcare system. The principle aim of this course is provide students with an introduction to the field of Medical Imaging which will culminate in a clinical observation week where each student will get a taste of the clinical environment of their chosen profession. Students will have an opportunity to interact with imaging practitioners and patients and link theory and practice. The theoretical content of this course will introduce foundation theory and concepts to prepare students for their observation placement and ensure that they are safe and professional. The course will also explore the principles of effective learning as a health care practitioner and how to get the most out of a health care programme. On completion of this course students will be able to identify the qualities and characteristics of an imaging professional and demonstrate the ability to interact and work within an imaging environment as a safe and professional student practitioner.
