MEDS12001 Physics of Ultrasound

Course details

Students will be able to critically assess the normal and abnormal sonographic image of the abdomen and pelvis by using skills and knowledge of anatomical, pathological and physics principles. Students will learn strategies to use with all types of patients including geriatric patients. They will become familiar with the link between embryology and human development and will learn to interpret referrals and requests and laboratory data relevant to a patient. Using correct sonographic terminology. Students will create a written technical impression of a case. Practical and laboratory exercises will be incorporated as part of the learning process.
