Course details

Commercial accommodation is a fundamental component of most tourism experiences. This course provides an understanding of the principles of managing and marketing accommodation facilities. Aside from the organisational structure and functions of departments within resorts and hotels, students will gain an understanding of the interaction involved in delivering a quality experience to guests. This fundamental understanding of operations, basic managerial responsibilities and marketing approaches will provide for a deeper and broader appreciation of the complexities and challenges facing accommodation operators, large and small. At the completion of the course, students will have a general understanding of the major industry components of the accommodation sector and their interrelationship within the broader tourism and hospitality industries.
