MBIO12013 Microbiology for Health Care

Course details

This course provides students with essential knowledge on the role of microorganisms and infection control within the context of health care. The course will also cover host defences and the immune response, including the host-pathogen relationship and the mechanisms of microbial disease. Microbial epidemiology will be examined, with emphasis on worldwide discipline-specific examples. Students must attend a compulsory residential school or on-campus lab classes in order to achieve the learning outcomes.
Only students enrolled in CG95, CB77, CB29 or CB66 can enrol in this course. This course is incompatible with MBIO19012 Microbiology.
