PODI14010 High Risk Foot and Chronic Wound Care

Course details

This course focuses on the management of chronic wounds of the foot. Students will analyse the factors that enable identification of the ¿high risk foot¿. Prevalence of disorders that contribute to disease susceptibility will be considered, along with associated pathophysiological and neurological impacts. Biomechanical factors and client education associated with management and care of infection of the foot at risk for amputation/ulceration will also be considered in the context of prevention and ongoing client health.
