NURS13123 Mental Health Nursing in Context

Course details

Students should gain enhanced knowledge regarding: the structure of the mental health service system; the legislative and other factors that impact on practice in this field; and the mental health nursing profession including practice settings and career structures. Mental health nursing is an exciting and varied field of nursing. This course should enable students who choose a major in mental health to understand the broader social and political context that shapes and influences mental health nursing.
Participation in compulsory clinical placement should provide students with a suitable learning environment to meet the course objectives. Participation in the residential school is compulsory for flex students.
