NUTR13001 Public Health Nutrition

Course details

This course will develop student understanding of public health nutrition, which encompasses the biological, social and environmental dimensions of health in promoting and maintaining the nutritional health of populations. Nutritional issues facing population groups, the importance of food choices and nutrition in promoting health and preventing disease will be considered. Government policy, food standards and food regulation legislation will be explored along with group education techniques for public health nutrition promotion.
