Course details
This capstone course will provide students with the skills they need to succeed in the rapidly changing contemporary working environment. This course encourages students to identify, formulate and solve organisational problems and will provide Tourism Management students industry focused learning opportunities during their final year of study. Students actively engage in characteristics of the "real world" - such as time pressure, lack of resources, gaps in skill sets, cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams addressing complex problems, plus differing leadership and team member abilities.
This course is an opportunity for students to demonstrate that they have developed the attributes required of a CQUniversity Graduate. The course is student-centred and student-directed and requires the command, analysis and synthesis of knowledge and skills. In this course a number of seminars will be delivered by tourism industry leaders to discuss the issues that face the industry. Students will then be asked to undertake a project related to their chosen sector of the tourism industry. By completing the project the student will demonstrate a range of cross-discipline knowledge and analytical skills to perform an executive level analysis of an enterprise. The successful completion of this project requires a methodical, insightful, and well articulated report that demonstrates that they have achieved the specified learning goals of the program.
