MEDI13003 Comparative Imaging

Course details

Comparative imaging aims to provide student imaging practitioners with an opportunity to critically evaluate the complementary role of a range of key medical imaging modalities/examinations. The course will utilise multi-modality cases and realistic clinical scenarios to provide students with an opportunity to work together collaboratively to practice and develop critical thinking skills and fundamental image intrpretation skills for common disease processes. The course will consolidate students' knowledge of relational anatomy, physiology and trauma/disease/pathology. Due to the highly dynamic nature of this clinical area the ability to search and use current peer-reviewed literature/legislation/guidance is an important professional skill to further develop and consolidate. On completion of this course each student will be able to use evidence based practice to critically analyse the scientific and humanistic aspects of a range of medical imaging modalities/examinations and critically evaluate the complimentary role of imaging within the Australian healthcare system.
