Course details

This course introduces students to the history and cultural development of contemporary popular music from its twentieth-century origins in rock and roll through pop music, motown, soul, psychedilia and Australian rock. It focuses on prominent musicians, composers and repertoire, including the sociological and political events that influenced musical trends in contemporary popular music from 1950 - 1970.
