OCCT13007 Enabling Strategies for People with Mental Illness

Course details

This course provides an in-depth exploration of the roles of occupational therapists working in mental health settings, use of client-centered assessment approaches to understand the factors that influence occupational functioning and contemporary occupational therapy mental health service provision for youths, adults and older people. Using the occupational therapy process and model of human occupation (MOHO), students will practice conducting assessments and planning interventions via real life case studies. The legislative umbrella under which occupational therapists practice along with the ethical and professional standards that underpin occupational therapy delivery will be examined.
