Course details
The course will introduce the student to concepts and knowledge needed to effectively care for clients experiencing complex alterations in health. The student will be encouraged to apply knowledge of human science to the pathophysiological, biopsychological, and psychosocial responses occurring with individuals and families experiencing complex alterations in health. Students will be asked to critically analysis the care provided to clients, including strategies to assist individuals and their family cope with crisis situations. In addition the student will need to demonstrate understanding of the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe nursing care in various complex health care settings. Knowledge of ethico-legal issues and collaborative care processes including the use of pharmacological agents, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to a range of complex health alterations will also be examined.
Participation in the residential school is compulsory for all students.
