INDG20004 Indigenous Cultures and Country

Course details

Students in this course will examine the social organisation, beliefs and value systems of Australian Indigenous cultures. In so doing, they will gain an appreciation of vital connections to country that many contemporary Indigenous Australians maintain. Various implications for contemporary land and sea use are also explored, as are the kinds of negotiations and relationships that need to develop between commercial operators (such as mining companies, pastoral leaseholders and tourism enterprises) and Indigenous stakeholders.
