Course details

This course introduces students to the history and cultural development of modern jazz music, including hardbop, west coast, free jazz, fusion, latin jazz and modern mainstream. It focuses on prominent musicians, composers and repertoire as well as the major sociological and political events that influenced musical trends in jazz from the mid 1950¿s to the present day.
