EDEL20005 Online Collaboration for Learning

Course details

Online communication and collaboration are critical elements of a successful online learning environment. Through design frameworks identified in the literature, and immersion in modelled activities mediated by both synchronous and asynchronous technologies, students will evaluate the potential of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to support collaborative learning. A range of design frameworks for online collaborative learning will be evaluated and assessed for their usefulness in a range of contexts. In small groups, students will design and facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration for learning, based on a nominated topic that is suitable for this type of learning. Through self-and peer assessment, students will evaluate the design and facilitation principles that support online collaborative learning, together with reflection on personal learning.
