ALLH13008 Rural & Remote Allied Health Practice

Course details

This course will provide students with an overview of rural Australia including its economic, environmental, geographic and cultural influences. The health status of non-metropolitan Australian will be explored along with service delivery issues in this context. Specific details regarding indigenous Australians health will also be outlined. Students will gain an understanding the role of health professionals working in rural and remote areas of Australia and the current issues which they face. Different generic service delivery models will be explored through rural case studies. Additionally this course will link students with practising rural therapist via video conferencing or telehealth.
