NURS13126 Critical Care Nursing

Course details

The course will introduce the student to concepts and knowledge needed to effectively care for patients experiencing complex alterations in health. Students will critically consider the care provided to patients, including strategies to assist individuals and significant others when dealing with health crises. Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe nursing care in various complex health care settings will be discussed. Effective communication and collaboration in high acuity and emergency management settings will be emphasised in this course. Students will be expected to function within the scope of practice of a nursing student in accordance with ANMC competencies during a compulsory clinical placement.

Students who have satisfactorily completed NURS13124 Critical Care Nursing and/or NURS10126 Nursing Project are not required to complete this new course.
