MEDI13002 Imaging Procedures 3

Course details

Imaging Procedures 3 builds upon the core knowledge and skills developed and consolidated during Imaging Procedures 1 & 2 and clinical practice. This course will predominantly focus on practical Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and on completion of this course students will have developed a core knowledge of applied humanistic and scientific concepts to be able to perform simulated CT examinations of the brain, cervical spine, thorax, abdomen and pelvis. Simulated practice will be performed in our state of the art CT laboratory with a focus on effective patient care and safe practice. The theory of practical MRI safety will also be explored providing students with a foundation knowledge for future professional specialisation and the core knowledge to assist in the MRI environment safely and effectively. The course will also explore the theory of interventional procedures and interventional devices with a particular focus on patient care and multidisciplinary teamwork pre, during and post interventional procedures.
