CK26 - Master of Indigenous Studies - No Enrolments in 2013

1 Core Indigenous Studies Course
2 of the following Indigenous Elective Courses:
1 major (3 courses*) chosen from the list below:

 

 

* For both the Environmental Management major and the Sustainable Communities major students are required to complete four courses for their chosen major given that some of these courses are worth 6 points each.

Business

 

Students who choose the Business major need to complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus three Business courses chosen from the following. Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with Business studies.  

Human Resource Management

 

Students who choose this major need to complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus three Human Resource Management courses chosen from the following. Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with the study of Human Resource Management.  

Education

 

Students who choose this major need to complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus three Education courses chosen from the following. Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with their study of Education. 

Environmental Management

 

Students who choose this major complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus four Environmental Management courses chosen from the following (note: ENEV20001, EVST20012 and EVST20002 are all core courses within the Environmental Management major). Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with their studies in Environmental Management. 

Health Promotion

 

Students who choose this major need to complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus three Health Promotion courses chosen from the following. Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with the study of Health Promotion. 

Project Management

 

Students who choose this major need to complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus three Project Management courses.

 

Importantly, there are two separate student cohorts within the Project Management major. The first cohort consists of individuals who wish to become Project Managers in the human services sector. For these students MGMT22166, MGMT20125 and ACCT20051 are all core courses.

 

The second cohort consists of those who aspire to become Project Managers in the mining or construction industry and who wish to become more familiar with Indigenous issues. These students are normally employed in the mining or construction industry already and typically have an engineering background. For these students PPMP20001, PPMP20002 and PPMP20003 are all core courses.

 

Sustainable Communities

 

Students who choose this major complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus four of the following Sustainable Communities courses. Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with the study of Sustainable Communities.  

Information and Communication Technology

 

Students who choose this major complete three of the four Indigenous Studies courses plus three Information & Communication Technology courses chosen from the following. Students then commence a Research Project that combines Indigenous Studies with the study of Information & Communication Technology.
