OCCT12005 Occupational Therapy: Theory and Practice

Course details

This course will provide students with a deep understanding of the concept of occupation, the fundamental theoretical basis of occupational therapy practice. An historical overview of the profession will also be presented so that students can contrast the changes and plot the evolution in occupations and occupational therapy practice over the past century. The practical application of occupational theory as it drives contemporary occupational therapy practice will be introduced via one key occupational therapy practice model. Information surrounding the regulatory and professional bodies guiding occupational therapy practice locally and internationally will be introduced as students become aware of their professional and ethical responsibilities.
