Course details
This course is an introduction to the issues in coal technology for Australian energy resources. Students should be able to discuss the energy and coking applications of coal. They should be able to demonstrate testing procedures and systems in coal use. Discussions will include cost structures associated with coal quality and various approaches to coal utilisation. Students are expected to develop an understanding of how processing and coking methods affect coal utilisation. The application of blending and quality control will be demonstrated to optimize value from coal resources . They will investigate coal technology in a defined context and carry out standard strategies and apply techniques that relate to coal utilisation.
