Course details

This course introduces how humans communicate through speech and language. The knowledge and skills acquired in this course will contribute substantially to students¿ future professional work with people with communication disorders. Language and speech are essential cognitive characteristics of being human, and understanding how these processes are organised and function will be invaluable. Language and speech are the foundations of literacy and the communication skills children need to succeed at school. This term focuses on speech sounds and words (their formation and meaning).
