EDED11328 Teaching Health and Fitness

Course details

This course introduces students to theoretical foundations of human wellness and personal fitness. The multi-dimensional nature of human wellness and the common lifestyle and environmental factors that influence wellness are examined. Through the study of anatomy and physiology, students will understand the body's many responses to exercise, and how these can be improved to foster sports performance and physical fitness. Techniques for assessing the various components of fitness are examined and guidelines for the development and maintenance of fitness are provided. The relationship of fitness to overall health and the benefits of an active lifestyle are also addressed.
