OCHS20032 Risk Management and Safety Technology

Course details

At completion of this course students should be able to review the risk management process as a tool for occupational health and safety management. As a framework for the course we will concentrate on safety hazards through the wider application of the tools used for both occupational health and safety and strategic risk management. Information on safety hazards is well documented and it is expected that you will access and read resources in addition to those included within this course to expand your understanding. The safety science components of this course will require you to investigate events that cause injury, commonly referred to as 'accidents', in an attempt to highlight the predictable and preventable nature of most injuries. To build upon the theoretical, students will be required to attend a compulsory residential school at CQUniversity Australia (Rockhampton campus).
