OCHS22002 Rail Safety Legislation and Regulation

Course details

This course introduces the rail safety regulatory environment by examining the core content of relevant rail safety regulation and applicable Australian Standards. Topics include: legal mechanisms, powers and obligations, meeting rail safety requirements, balancing regulation and management, considering alternative modes of regulation, balancing regulation and management, the quest for harmonisation and the future of safety regulation. Students interpret the relevant legislation and apply it to real world problems through guided online discussion.
